Internship opportunities vary by year and business need. However, the following departments tend to regularly host interns: Cybersecurity, Engineering (Generation & Transmission), Safety and Supply Chain.
Postings generally open as early as August and continue through February.
It’s easy. Just browse our job openings, find an internship opportunity you are interested in and qualified for and follow the steps to apply.
Internships usually run 10-12 weeks, starting in late May and ending in August. Exact dates can vary depending on your availability and business needs.
Yes! You’ll get real experience and a paycheck.
While housing isn’t provided, some departments offer a sign-on bonus to help offset those costs.
To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled in a qualifying degree program.
While we value global talent, at this time, we’re only able to consider candidates who are authorized to work in the U.S. without the needs for visa sponsorship or employer involvement.
Some internships are fully on-site due to the nature of the work (field or plant operations), but others offer hybrid options.
Be curious, ask questions, stay engaged, manage your time and bring your perspective. No one expects you to be an expert. You’ll learn by doing and we’ll be there to support you.
Yes! Every intern is matched with a supervisor, and in some cases, you’ll also have a mentor.
Yes! We plan several intern events throughout the summer to allow you to network, connect and collaborate with other interns at LCRA.
